Begin by lifting up the next door overlapping tile.
The steel blade slips under the tile until one of the barbs of the arrow shaped tip hooks round the nail that is driven into the roof batten.
The best way to do that is to pound the pointed jaws of a cat s paw under the head.

Once engaged pull out the nail by pulling down on the tool or giving a hammer blow on the curved handle.
If the nail is proving difficult the tool will cut through the nail.
This will lift the overlapping tiles on the row above so the tile you want to remove should come out easily.
Also unplug the tiles.
If your tiles aren t lifting they may have nails holding them in place.
If you do not have a scraper use a garden spade with a flat blade to hook the tiles underneath.
